Rackspace Email
Rackspace is one of the world’s leading professionals in the hosting industry. Setting up your Outlook email with Rackspace shouldn’t be at all difficult by following these simple steps. You should note that these steps are made using Outlook 2010 but you could pretty much use them with the older versions of Outlook such as 2003 or 2007, seeing how the steps are pretty much identical.

Rackspace Email for Outlook 2010
Complete the following steps in order to setup up Outlook 2010 for POP setting:
- When you’re in Outlook, select the “File” tab.
- Once there, click on “Account Setting”, then “New”.
- Select the “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” then click “Next”.
- Make sure the “Internet Email” option is selected and continue by pressing “Next”.
- At the setup screen, put in the following information:
- Under the User Information, put in your Name and your Email address that you are using under Rackspace email
- Under the Server Information, put in the secure server name in the incoming and outgoing mail server, which is secure.emailsrvr.com
- In the Logon Information, put in your username, which is your entire email address, and your password.
Rackspace Outlook Setup
- Once you have completed the steps above, make sure you check Remember Password and click on the More Settings button.
- Click on the tab that says Outgoing Server, and check the box that says My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Leave the default settings the same for Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Once that is done, click on the “Advanced” tab.
- Under the Server Port Number, put 995 for Incoming server (POP3) section, and 465 for the Outgoing server (SMTP)section. If you are doing this with IMAP settings, the Incoming server (IMAP) is 993 and Outgoing server (SMTP) is 465
- Make sure to check the box that says “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”.
- Once you have done all that, click on OK>Next>Finish>Close and your all set!
Rackspace iPhone Settings
To set up Rackspace Email with your iPhone isn’t so complicated. These steps are compatible with the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 4. The following steps are for both POP and IMAP settings
1. To begin, go to Settings on your iPhone and scroll to where it says “mail, contacts, calendars” and click it.
2. Next click where it say Add Account
3. Now click Other and select Add Mail Account. This option will allow you put in a custom email address on your iPhone, such as Rackspace Email.
4. Click on New Account. This option will allow you put in a custom email address on your iPhone, such as Rackspace Email.
• Name: Your Name
• Address: username@yourdomain.com
• Password: your email password
• Description: username@yourdomain.com
5. Once you have finished filling that out, select Save then press POP or IMAP, depending on your preference.
6. Put in the following information for the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server sections:
Incoming mail server
Host Name: secure.emailsrvr.com
Username: username@yourdomain.com
pw: email password
Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name: secure.emailsrvr.com
Username: username@yourdomain.com
pw: email password
7. Once that is filled out, press Save and your iPhone will go back to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen and your done!
