How to setup an Email Group in Outlook using the right Outlook Setting and Options
Outlook Email Groups, as a lot of you might already be aware, is also commonly referred to as Distribution Lists. And the same is used when you want to send an email to a group of people.
And as such, Microsoft explains that the distribution list allows you to first select and then add a collection of common contacts from your main list so that you can send common email messages by clicking on the group at once.
This feature can save you a lot of time and effort. For instead of you having to select each and every recipient separately for the operation, you can directly go ahead and send the same email message in a bulk.
Also note that all your recipients will receive the mail at the same time.
So in getting on with our article, let us now take a look at a few simple steps as suggested by Microsoft to set up such a distribution list for your email chores
by using the right Outlook Setting and options.
Read on to learn more about the same.
Setting up an Email Group in Outlook using Outlook Setting and Options
To begin with your Outlook Setting and options to configure an email group for the same program, you will first need to launch Microsoft Outlook on your computer.
Once you have it up and running, create the same distribution list by heading for the “File” menu then select the “New” option from the menu bar. Select “Distribution List” followed by typing in the name of your list (as per your preference) into the “Name” section.
After which, proceed to adding email addresses from your contacts and address book by using the “Select Members” option. As for email addresses not yet stored on your contacts and address book, use the “Add New” button and option.
You need to then select “Save and Close” once after you have completed adding everyone into your new distribution list.
However note that you can always edit the same list later on if you need to add more people or even remove a few selected ones. And as such, you will now be able to access the new list when you create new emails.
Creating a New Mail
Do so by clicking on “Inbox” from the folders list and select “New”. Type in the name of your distribution list into the “To” field and once Outlook recognizes the same, you can continue with sending your mail.
That should be all the help you will need.
How to configuring the Sasktel email Outlook setting
Sasktel is a communication services provider that offers high speed internet, digital TV, security and what not. For a complete list of the services offered by the company, use Google.
Sasktel email
One of the benefits of using the services provided by Sasktel is the free email. Sasktel gives you a personal email account that can be used to carry out your day to day activities. Again, I wouldn’t be explaining the features in the Sasktel email. I’ll let Google handle that too!
This email can be accessed through the webmail service the company provides. But if you have multiple accounts to look after, this becomes a troublesome operation as you will have to log into each account and once you are done with the day, log out of each of these accounts. Yeah, it’s pretty boring.
On the other hand, if you use an email client program like Outlook, your problem is solved. Once the Outlook setting configuration is complete, you can send,
store or receive mails in your computer. And that too from all of the accounts you hold.
But you may argue that the configuration part for Sasktel is tricky. That’s why I have included the instructions for configuring the Sasktel email. Read on!
Outlook setting configuration steps
- Launch Outlook by double clicking on the icon from the desktop. Click the Tools option from the menu bar and then click Account Settings.
- Open the Email or Mail tab and the select New.
- In the next window, opt to manually configure the email account and then click Next.
- Choose Internet Email as the email service type and again click Next.
- Enter the particulars of your Sasktel email account in the next window. These should include your complete mail id, password etc entered in the correct boxes.
- Type in “mail.sasktel.net” as the Incoming Mail Server and “smtp.sasktel.net” as the Outgoing Mail Server.

- Once all this is done, click Finish to save and close the email setup wizard.
The Outlook setting configuration process is complete. Have a nice day!
