Resolving Outlook problems using Inbox Repair Tool

To start with fixing these Outlook problems, you first need to get to the “Program Files” folder from the system C:\ Drive to open “Common Files”, then “System”, “MAPI” and finally “1033” to locate the “scanpst.exe” file.

You can then double click on it to run the Inbox Repair Tool application on your computer.

Proceed resolving your Outlook problems by typing “%appdata%\Microsoft\Outlook” into the “Search” application text box from the “Start” menu.

This will provide you with the location of the corrupt or damaged PST file in your system hard drive that has been causing the Outlook problems.

Next up, use the “Browse” option on the repair window to select the same PST file, hit on “Start” to initiate scanning of the file.

Try backing up the PST folder if the scan results indicate problems by placing a check on the box and identify a location to store the same.

Now, click on the “Repair” button to finally initiate the repair tool for repairing all your Outlook problems.

You can then re-open the program after the recovery process is complete and find all your Outlook problems resolved.

Resolve Outlook problems related to “Send/Receive settings” in Outlook

Sometimes, while trying to send a message in Outlook, you might have faced the bitter experience of Outlook freezing up and crashing on you.  I too, have often had the misfortune of facing such Outlook problems especially when I click on the ‘Send/Receive’ button or when Outlook sends or receives by itself. Such Outlook problems can be really annoying at times. However, with the assistance of Outlook help, you should be able to resolve such issues quite easily.

Causes for such Outlook problems

One of the main reasons for such Outlook problems occurring is due to the fact that your virus scanner integrates with the mail components. If you have a virus scanner installed which integrates itself with Outlook, all you need to do is disable this integration and try again. The integration components will not be disabled on turning off your virus scanner. You can consult the documentation of your virus scanner on how to disable its mail components properly.

Another reason for such Outlook problems is the fact that the “SRS” file, in which Outlook keeps the “Send/Receive settings”, is corrupted. But again, you can resolve such Outlook problems by resetting the “SRS” file of your Outlook. You can reset “Send/Receive settings” by renaming the SRS file to .old when
